Leander ISD’s board of trustees plans to discuss the grading system and class rankings at a special called, online-only meeting at 6 p.m. March 31.

Under the proposal to be discussed, second semester grades for the current school year would not be factored into a student’s cumulative GPA or class rank.

LISD schools were closed for an additional two weeks at the end of spring break, from March 24-April 3, due to coronavirus concerns. On March 27, a week was added to the closure by LISD, closing school through April 10.

“We have not collected grades or assignments during these initial two weeks of our building closure [through April 5],” said a statement announcing the meeting. “We will transition to a new distance learning plan on April 6 to include the introduction of new learning.”

The meeting, which can be viewed online at http://bit.ly/0331LISDmeeting, starts at 6 p.m. The link will go live approximately one hour before the meeting, according to LISD.
