Cedar Park Mayor Corbin Van Arsdale received honor and recognition for serving several years in the city at the May 12 council meeting.

Mayor Van Arsdale served with the city of Cedar Park for over five years. Prior to joining the City Council, Van Arsdale served on the city’s 4B and parks and recreation boards. He was elected to serve on the Cedar Park City Council in 2014 and re-elected in 2016. In 2018, Van Arsdale was first elected to serve as mayor of Cedar Park, and he was then re-elected in 2020 to serve a second term.

Van Arsdale expressed his confidence in the council moving forward and his excitement to see where they go in the future at the meeting.

“I know the people on this council care about the city,” he said. “And so I feel fantastic and excited to watch what all y’all do; thank y’all.”

City of Leander Mayor Christine DeLisle attended the May 12 council meeting and showed her appreciation toward Van Arsdale, who she has cultivated a relationship with in the past year of her term.

“I wanted to thank you for being my guiding light and my mentor,” DeLisle said at the meeting. “You’ve always known just what to say and just who to introduce me to, and you are going to be sorely missed.”

Van Arsdale did not run for re-election in the May 7 council elections. Jim Penniman-Morin, council member and mayor-elect, ran in his place.

“Corbin, you’re going to be a very tough act to follow,” Penniman-Morin said.
