The Leander ISD board of trustees has hired Mark Koller as the first principal at Danielson Middle School, a new school that is scheduled to open in August 2020.

Since 2016, Koller has worked as principal at Leander Middle School.

Next year, some of LMS’s graduating fifth-grade students will advance to sixth grade at DMS, according to LISD feeder patterns.

Before coming to LMS, Koller also worked as a principal at Pleasant Hill Elementary School from 2012-16 and an assistant principal at Plain Elementary School from 2008-12, according to LISD. Before coming to LISD in 2006, he began his teaching career in 2002 as a special education teacher in San Marcos CISD.

Koller earned his bachelor’s degree at Texas State University and master’s degree at Lamar University.

Koller’s hiring was approved at the Nov. 7 workshop meeting.

DMS is still under construction and is being built across from Glenn High School in north Leander.
