The project involves the removal and replacement of 2 inches of asphalt on each roadway. Resurfacing work on Vista Ridge Boulevard began June 6 and will continue until July 3.
“Performing street resurfacing on major roads when the pavement condition is still satisfactory extends the service life; improves safety and mobility for drivers, cyclists and pedestrians; and enhances the visual appearance of roadways,” said Randall Lueders, the city’s director of engineering and capital projects, at an April 13 City Council meeting.
The schedule is as follows:
- June 6-July 3: Vista Ridge Boulevard from Whitestone Boulevard to Brushy Creek Road
- July 4-7: Blue Ridge Parkway from Bryce Canyon Drive to Brushy Creek Road
- July 10-12: East Park Street from Kings Canyon Drive to 183A Toll
- July 20-27: Pavement for all three roads will be completed, and new markings will be installed.
Irwin said the project’s schedule may change based on weather conditions as crews cannot work if it rains. For the most recent project updates, check the city of Cedar Park’s Facebook page, Irwin said.
Cedar Park City Council approved $1.86 million for the project’s construction with Lone Star Paving Co. at an April 13 meeting. The resurfacing project is funded through the city’s voter-approved 2022 bond program.
