The Cedar Park-Far Northwest Austin market saw an influx of homebuyers in August, according to data from the Austin Board of Realtors.

Home sales were up year over year across the market, along with the average number of days homes sat on the market. Median home prices, however, dropped across all five ZIP codes.

Sales in 78726 remained consistent year over year with five sold, but sales were up across all four other ZIP codes. Sales increased by 47.6% in 78717, the highest in the market.


Homes also spent longer on the market in August compared to last year. Homes lingered for almost two months in 78750, the longest in the market and nearly three times as many days as last year.


While sales and days on the market were up, median home prices across the market were down. Prices dropped the most year over year in 78726—27%—while 78729 had the smallest drop, only decreasing by $500.
