Christian Resource Center celebrated the grand opening of its new physical space at the Twin Lakes Fellowship campus earlier this month.

What to know

Executive Director Michelle Johnson said 11 nonprofits are housed at the center, and center staff support them with advocacy, volunteers and spreading the word about events.

“A lot of families are walking up looking for resources but they’re confused as to where to go and how to find it, so we decided to take one of the small spaces, renovate it and make it an actual Christian Resource Center space,” Johnson said.

What they offer

The resource center offers training for job readiness skills; English as a second language and citizenship classes; life skills education; food, diapers and clothing; transitional housing for women in recovery; juvenile offender support; and pregnancy services.

In the last year, 92,000 services have been used by individuals in the community, Johnson said.

Get involved

The center will host its annual Christmas store on Dec. 14 and is looking for volunteers to help with the event.

Community members are welcome to make donations for children ages 17 and under. Johnson said the center is hoping to collect 2,100 gifts and 200 bikes to give to 700 children. Individuals can donate through the center’s Amazon wish list as well.
