Beacon Hospice, a freestanding hospital for hospice patients in crisis, will open next year in Northwest Austin.

Located off RM 620, the location will offer 18 private rooms for patients and around-the-clock care from physicians. Beacon Hospice additionally offers 24-hour visitation hours for families, a family gathering area and a place for families to stay alongside their loved ones, Vice President of Operations Brenna Rodriguez said.

The facility offers short-term care for patients in need and will have an outpatient team moving to the new location as well. Harbor Hospice, the facility’s sister company, offers 50 locations in six different states. Being a freestanding in-patient facility is unique for a hospice service, Rodriguez said.
