Fear Fair at Sign Bar
Fear Fair at Sign Bar is returning for the second year, bringing a maze, live actors, photo opportunities and themed cocktails. Visitors can also book a daytime matinee walkthrough without live actors. Sign Bar will host a Witchy Vendor Market on Oct. 15 from 7-10 p.m.
The German-Texan Heritage Society is celebrating Oktoberfest with German beer, wine, food and live music from Bushy Creek Band, Walburg Boys and Yodel Blitz.
Reuse on the Runway: A Night of Fashion, Costume and Drag
Austin Creative Reuse, a local non-profit craft store, will host its fifth annual fashion show at the Mueller Branch Park Pavilion. Designers will show over 50 looks, each one incorporating reuse materials or techniques. The event will also feature a photo booth, bar, DJ, food for purchase and a meet and greet with the fashion show models and designers.
Locals can head to Girard Kinney Park at Mueller to watch KUTX 98.9’s 50th Rock the Park concert. The show will start with JareBear, a family and children’s music project led by Jared Leibowich. EddieAngel, the May KUTX Artist of the Month, is slated to close out the show.

Viva la Vida Festival & Parade
Mexic-Arte Museum will host its 43rd annual Viva la Vida Festival & Parade in downtown Austin, celebrating Día de los Muertos. The festival will begin with a Grand Procession at noon, followed by traditional foods, art activities, local artists, retail offerings, a low-rider exhibition and live performances.
The 40th annual self-guided tour is returning this fall, featuring the work of nine local architects. Guests will see homes by architects like DK Studio, Pollen Architecture and Davey McEathron Architecture.
Austin’s 33rd annual film festival is returning in late October, with its four-day Writers Conference taking place Oct. 29-Nov. 1. The festival will include panel discussions, screenings and world premieres across the city.
