The $194,000 project is expected to take about 90 days, Cedar Park Senior Engineer Jessica Kintz said at the meeting.
Two-minute impact
The project will include installing new light fixtures, solar panels and security cameras at two pedestrian tunnels in the park, Kintz said.
“The proposed lighting will be interactive LED lights along the length of the pedestrian tunnels,” she said. The project aims to create a “dynamic and immersive lighting experience.”
The solar panels will power the lights and security cameras.
What they’re saying
Council member Kevin Harris mentioned the community has been concerned about graffiti in the tunnels, but, he said, the security cameras could curb that.
“I think this is really exciting,” Mayor Jim Penniman-Morin said.
