Cedar Park City Council at its April 10 meeting authorized a $2.2 million contract with Bennett Paving for the construction of the 2025 Neighborhood Road Resurfacing Project.

The construction is expected to take around 45 days, and various neighborhood roads around the city will be repaved.

The repaving process for the project includes removing the existing asphalt along the edge of residential streets and adding a one inch layer of new asphalt, according to agenda documents.

“Performing street resurfacing on these neighborhood roads extends the service life, improves safety and mobility for drivers, cyclists and pedestrians, and enhances the visual appearance of the roadways,” said Morgan Huddleston, associate engineer for the city.

The locations for the repavings were determined in part by a 2022 study of pavement conditions in the city, Huddleston said.

What else?

Funding for the project comes from a 2022 bond and annual pavement maintenance funds, according to the documents.
