The specifics
The first night, designed for families and featuring free admission, will be sponsored by Samsung. Furthermore, Bryon Borchers, president of the Williamson County Fair Association, announced a 25% increase in overall sponsorship for the event at the Williamson County Commissioners Court meeting Oct. 10.
Family night will also feature the county’s first ever junior rodeo, organized by a local couple from Williamson County. Some proceeds from the fair and rodeo go toward student scholarships, including 11 scholarship giveaways totaling $4,500.
“I think that’s why I like our rodeo here so much,” Williamson County Judge Bill Gravell said. “Kids get to be kids.”
As WilCo celebrates the end of harvest season, in addition to the county's 175th birthday, family-friendly events at the fair include a mobile milking station for children, a petting zoo and pig races.
After the American Professional Rodeo Association events on Friday and Saturday, there will be live music both nights, including a Tejano night and a performance by Aaron Watson.
