Several Fourth of July events are set to take place in the far Northwest Austin, Cedar Park, Leander and Liberty Hill areas.

Residents can also look forward to a live animal show, comic convention and summer film series in late June and July.

Go Skateboarding Day

This annual event hosted by the Cedar Park Parks and Recreation Department will include various competitions, including a street-style competition, a bowl contest and Game of Skate, in which skaters perform each other's tricks. The event will also feature music, prizes and food to purchase.Show & Shine Car Meet

Honda Leander will host an automotive show for car fanatics. Attendees are invited to bring their own cars. Honda Leander may feature some of its vehicles but no test drives or purchases will be available.Silent Disco


Attendees ages 12 and up can enjoy a dance party using wireless, noise-canceling headsets that feature LED lights and a choice of three different music channels. The Cedar Park Public Library event will be limited to the first 75 attendees.Independence Day Spectacular

At this patriotic Liberty Hill event, residents can compete in homemade apple pie, watermelon-seed spitting and hot dog-eating contests while children can enjoy an obstacle course, a trackless train and a velcro wall. Activities will be followed by a snowball fight and live music by Jason Boland & The Stragglers. The event will conclude with a fireworks show.

Liberty Fest

The city of Leander’s annual Independence Day celebration will include fireworks, live music, children’s activities and food. A kids zone featuring bounce houses and slides will require a $10 wristband. Attendees will be bused from parking at Glenn High School.

Austin Symphony Fourth of July Celebration and Fireworks

The 47th annual event presented by H-E-B will include performances by local musicians, including Tameca Jones, Bidi Bidi Banda and DJ Du. The orchestra will perform followed by a fireworks show over Lady Bird Lake. Food trucks, market vendors and family-friendly activities, such as yard games, will be available.Cedar Park July 4 Celebration


The city of Cedar Park will celebrate Independence Day with live music, free carnival rides and inflatables, concessions, and fireworks. A movie in the park will immediately follow the fireworks show.

Wildlife On The Move presents Boas v. Pythons

The animal outreach organization will showcase eight boas and pythons from five continents. The sports-themed show will explore the differences and similarities between boas and pythons and aim to promote literacy. Attendees may touch or interact with the animals and receive giveaway items.Greater Austin Comic Con

This weekend convention will highlight cosplay, comics and pop culture through celebrity guest appearances, artist showcases, gaming tournaments and free play, merchandise vendors, and a kids zone.
