“We want to do childcare right,” director Debra Wissman said.
Meet the team
The new childcare facility was founded by Jamie Putnam, owner of Capital Area Speech and Occupational Therapy and her daughter Kelsea Kosarek. Children enrolled in the center have the option to receive additional care from the registered therapists at Capital Area Speech and Occupational Therapy.
“We are committed to fostering strong collaboration between our school, parents, teachers and developmental specialists, as we believe it is foundational to a child's successful development,” according to the centers’ model statement.
Something to know
The childcare facility is currently accepting new enrollments. Wissman said the center hopes to serve 30 children this fall; 15 are currently enrolled. Tuition rates vary based on age and how many days a child attends per week, according to the parent handbook. Pricing for fall 2025 ranges from $740-$1,700.
“There is a difference in childcare, [parents] dont have to be accepting of revolving door staffing, which happens a lot at corporate childcares,” Wissman said.
The center currently offers tuition discounts for first responders, military personel, nurses and doctors. Staff also offers a discounted rate to families with multiple children enrolled.
