Over $25 million in bond funding has been released for modernization upgrades at four Leander ISD campuses in 2024.

What’s happening?

The board of trustees approved the first guaranteed price maximums for modernization work at one elementary school, one middle school and two high school campuses and a performing arts center at an Oct. 26 meeting.

Funded by the 2023 bond, over $25 million will cover initial costs for equipment, materials or services needed before construction work is expected to begin in summer 2024, according to the district’s website.

The board approved the following first guaranteed price maximums for each campus:
  • Bagdad Elementary School: $1.61 million
  • Running Brushy Middle School: $4.31 million
  • Vista Ridge High School: $9.05 million
  • Cedar Park High School and South Performing Arts Center: $10.92 million

Each campus will receive new major building subsystems in some of the following areas:
  • Roofing
  • Elevators
  • Air conditioning
  • Lighting
  • Electrical
  • Plumbing
  • Fire protection systems
  • Built-in specialties
  • Interior finishes
  • Furniture
Bagdad Elementary will also receive new playground equipment.
