In 2025, Community Impact shared the stories of 11 Cedar Park area restaurants in our dining feature section. Check out those stories below.

Stuffed Cajun Meat Market
Co-owner Kurt Knies said crawfish is the business’s No. 1 seller when the season starts in March.

Owners Kurt Knies and Tim Garrett opened the business in 2010 after meeting at a previous job in Louisiana and discussing plans to bring traditional Cajun flavors to Austin. Knies said Garrett’s Louisiana roots inspired the business’ menu.

The market strictly sold specialty products when it first opened, but after many customer requests for sit-down Cajun meals, Knies and Garrett expanded its offerings.

The restaurant has been serving vegetarian cuisine since 2013. Owner Chenchu Krishnan took over the business in 2021 after working in the hotel industry and looking to grow his passion for providing the right food for the right palette.

Krishnan began searching for the perfect chef to run the kitchen and found Anil Bashyam, a chef with robust experience in the hotel industry.

Los Reyes Mexican Restaurant

When Michael and Aracelia Nambo opened Los Reyes in 2006, neither of them had experience running a restaurant.

Michael moved to the United States from Mexico when he was 16 and had to put his education on hold to support his family. He worked at his uncle’s restaurant, where he learned to run a business from the ground up.

Noodle Alley
Noodle Alley is known for its beef short rib noodle soup as well as its steamed pork soup dumplings and steam buns.

For nearly five years, Noodle Alley has served traditional Chinese noodle soups alongside dumplings and steam buns to diners in the Cedar Park area.

Popular dishes include savory red-braised beef short-rib noodle soup and spicy hot-pot brisket noodle soup.

Shoyu ramen is Noodle Alley's twist on a Japanese dish, featuring a beef-based broth. The dan dan noodles entree is made with a sesame paste and peanut butter sauce blended with chili oil and pepper soy sauce.

1431 Cafe
The Redneck Benedict ($15.99) is a twist on the classic egg dish with sausage, biscuits and gravy.

The restaurant, located along Whitestone Blvd., or RM 1431, in Cedar Park, prides itself on being an “old-school diner” that offers classic comfort food with a unique Southern spin, said owner Earl Follis.

1431 Cafe has been operating in Cedar Park since 2009. Follis took over the business in 2019 after spending years in the tech sector. His investment was solid, but his timing was off: Follis and his wife took over the cafe just three months before the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent lockdown. But Follis and his crew kept the business afloat through delivery orders and by selling food and provisions, including baking supplies.

Since the summer of 2020, Cookie Wookie owner Erica Hom-Yern has been mixing up sweet treats in her Cedar Park kitchen, launching new Asian-inspired flavors bimonthly.

The bakery’s March and April specialty flavors include matcha cream, strawberry milk tea, taro coconut cake, saba banana blondie, cereal milk butter mochi and more. Other cookie combinations offered include pandan (a leafy plant with a nutty flavor) with toasted rice, Vietnamese coffee with cacao nibs, and black sesame cookies and cream—a nod to some of Hom-Yern’s childhood favorites.

Katrina Loyo forged a circuitous route to being a business owner. Loyo began her career as a gerontologist, working with older adults in the community and advising on care and housing options.

It was through her new interest in commercial real estate that she took ownership of Salerno’s when the previous owners sold it in November 2024. Loyo had never worked in the restaurant industry before, but she grew up with a big family that loved hosting, and she felt that prepared her well to make the transition.

EurAsia Ramen
EurAsia owner Dinata said the employees are the key to the restaurant's success.

Andre Dinata and his wife, Lili, opened EurAsia Ramen in 2019 after Dinata spent most of his career working in the restaurant industry. Dinata’s experiences in other eateries inspired him to open his own spot, and as he began developing the ramen menu, he found an outlet for creativity.

EurAsia Ramen offers sushi, ramen, poke and other plates, as well as desserts. The most popular menu item at the Cedar Park location is the spicy chicken ramen, featuring creamy chicken broth, grilled chicken, marinated soft-boiled eggs, mushrooms, scallions, bamboo shoots, cabbage, bean sprouts, and nori. Other featured menu items include the black tonkotsu and red tonkotsu ramen made with pork.

basilflower patisserie
basilflower patisserie offers pistachio, strawberry and lemon French macarons ($6 per half-dozen).

From garden to table, baker Manisri Sivaraju incorporates fresh, home-grown produce into her culinary creations—all from her Cedar Park backyard. As a self-proclaimed foodie, Sivaraju started basilflower patisserie in 2017 as an outlet for her love of cooking and baking and her passion for all things food-related. Sivaraju is a self-taught baker, drawing inspiration from traveling around the world and nature.

Sivaraju started cooking at age seven; her parents were both great cooks, Sivaraju said and growing up in South India, her dad introduced her to a wide range of food. Sivaraju passed her love of cooking down to her son, who started helping her in the kitchen at 18 months old.

Dos Hermanos Café
One of the weekly specials that Dos Hermanos Café and Tex Mex offers is the Taco Tuesday Plate with two tacos, rice and beans ($7.99).

Manuel Berrios had years of experience as a chef in Cedar Park and a long-time dream of opening a restaurant. In collaboration with his brother, Bulmaro Berrios, he decided to launch a family business to serve the entire community.

The Berrios brothers opened Dos Hermanos Café and Tex Mex in Cedar Park in January 2024, according to manager Jackie Jaimes. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with a menu stacked full of Tex Mex, American classics and craft cocktails.

Hao Lien has spent most of his life in restaurants. The Lien family owned and operated a range of restaurants serving Asian dishes for about 50 years, including Sea Dragon in Austin. After construction near Sea Dragon led owners to terminate the lease, Lien saw an opportunity to try something new: American seafood and steaks.

After growing up in the South and traveling across the country, Lien decided to focus on American coastal cuisine.
