The first Urban Youth Park Texas location is expected to open in Cedar Park near the end of the year, according to head coach and manager Nikolas Crisp.

The backstory

Owner Jessica Funke Ho, an athlete and gymnastics coach, founded Urban Youth Park after her son discovered parkour, according to the website. She built the first location upon learning there were no gyms in the area to fit her son's interest; she now has locations in Texas, Florida and California.

The specifics

The new facility will offer classes, birthday parties and summer camps. Benefits of the classes include spatial and body awareness, balance, confidence, friendship building and team bonding, according to the website. The key principles of the space are P.A.R.K.: passion, adaptability, responsibility and kindness.

Construction on the 7,220 square foot facility will begin at the end of August and conclude at the end of September, according to a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing. The new construction will cost approximately $158,000 to complete.
