The permanent closure was shared in an email to the practice’s community members. Current patients were advised to contact VCA Premier Animal Hospital to obtain a copy of pet medical records after Jan. 31.
“This decision was not made lightly, and we understand the impact it may have on you, your community and your beloved pet,” the email stated. “As we consolidate care, we want to thank you for trusting us with your pet and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.”
What they offered
The business provided same-day and next-day care for various medical issues including allergic reactions, eye issues and acute toxic ingestion.
Pet owners were welcome to wait in a virtual waiting room until arriving at the urgent care clinic in addition to using the practice’s 24/7 live chat feature to connect with on-call veterinarian technicians. VCA still operates several locations around the Austin area.
