The 1.6-acre facility includes a K-9 Splash Pad, large- and small-dog parks and self-wash dog wash stations. In addition, the areas are all staffed with Bark Rangers—Mutts's employees—to help clean up after pets and fill water bowls.
Other amenities include covered patios, fire pits, event areas and private party cabanas—all with large TVs and sound capabilities that can be seen and heard from anywhere in the park.
Memberships are available for annual, monthly and day passes, with discounted annual rates through grand opening weekend, Nov. 30-Dec. 2.
“As women business owners and sisters, we are proud to bring the Austin community a family-friendly place where they don’t have to pick between spending time with human or furry loved ones,” Ladewig Landers said. “Contrary to normal dog parks, Mutts offers a space for guests to sip on margaritas and enjoy great food [and] entertainment on the big screens and live music all while their pups run free.”
Mutts offers food menus for both people and pets, with options such as chicken, beef or cheese sandwiches; chicken tenders; and breakfast tacos. Sides range from salads to hummus, fries, fried pickles, popcorn or chips with salsa.
The dog menu offers Pupsicles, made from frozen peanut butter and beef broth on an edible stick, and Doggie Dogs, made from 100% beef with a side of peanut butter and an edible stick.
The human drink menu ranges from beer and wine to vodka-based seltzers, margaritas, frozen drinks and spiked popsicles. Nonalcoholic options such as lemonade, teas, sodas and water are also available.
“It was a no-brainer that Austin needed a destination like Mutts where pups and peeps can enjoy all their favorite things in one place,” Ladewig said. “We’re thrilled to bring Austinites a premiere outdoor ‘eater-tainment' concept to come eat, drink, relax and hang out with both two- and four-legged friends.”
