Austin City Council District 7 incumbent Leslie Pool leads challenger Natalie Gauldin in political donations so far this election season, according to the
final round of campaign finance reports due to election officials Tuesday.
Every opposed candidate in the Nov. 8 election must file a contributions and expenditures report eight days before the election. This latest round of reports, the final mandated disclosure before next Tuesday's election, covers all financials from Sept. 30 to Oct. 29, according to the Texas Ethics Commission.

Donations to candidates for Austin City Council are not allowed to exceed $350, according to city code.
Here is how much donation money each candidate has earned and spent for the Austin City Council District 7 race during that timeframe:
Leslie Pool: $9,412.33 in contributions, $55,312.98 in expenditures
Pool received 55 total contributions, including 14 that were for the maximum amount. Her top donors include engineering firm Lockwood, Andrews & Newman; and Christopher Lippincott, the founder of Hound's Creek Consulting.
Natalie Gauldin: $4,750 in contributions; $6,369.61 in expenditures
Gauldin received 40 total contributions, including five that were for the maximum amount. Her top donors include Mark Lehman, the vice president of governmental affairs for the Texas Association of Realtors; and Robbert Sutton, an engineer with TDK Engineering Associates.
