Incumbent Paul Workman leads his challengers, Democrat Ana Jordan and Libertarian Scott McKinlay, in political donations so far this election season, according to the latest round of campaign finance reports due to election officials Tuesday.
Every opposed candidate in the Nov. 8 election must file a contributions and expenditures report 30 days before the election. This latest round of reports, the first mandated disclosure since this summer, covers all financials from July 1 to Sept. 29, according to the Texas Ethics Commission. However, Jordan Albracht, campaign treasurer for McKinlay, said Oct. 12 he only filed a report July 14 that showed no contributions or expenses for the campaign and no further reports were required.
Here is how much donation money each candidate has earned and spent for Texas House of Representatives District 47 during that timeframe:
Paul Workman/Workman for Texas Specific Purpose Committee (SPAC) Campaign: $111,630 contributions, $43,954.65 expenditures
Ann "Ana" Jordan: $6,074.34 contributions, $6,093.06 expenditures
Scott McKinlay: $0 contributions, $0 expenditures.
Candidates for the Texas Senate can receive unlimited contributions from individuals; candidate committees; political action committees, or PACs; and political parties.
