Sweet Love & Sugar Britches in downtown Round Rock will close its doors at the end of February.

On a Facebook post Wednesday night, owner Julia Broadway thanked customers for 14 years of loyalty to the shop at 106 S. Mays St. she started with her mother in 2003.

“…I sadly announce that Sweet Love & Sugar Britches will be closing its doors at the end of February,” Broadway wrote in the post. “Through a lot of prayer, tears and thought…it is time.

"For our loyal customers, we thank you from the bottom of my heart. I will truly miss our ‘talks’ and hugs, and all of the friendly advice we have exchanged along the way. This I will miss the most.”

The store offers clothing for juniors and ladies, shoes, boots, jewelry, hand bags, totes, candles, home décor, and baby and child gifts.

The following is Broadway’s post on Facebook about closing the store:

“I have often wondered what words I would say when this day came and I have come to the realization that there are no ‘golden’ words for me to say.

My mother and I started a dream and a journey in 2003. We were/are simple women with a passion and a dream. We wanted to bring something to this community that set us apart, that was unique and that was much needed in Round Rock. We succeeded and oh what a team my mom and I were!

My daughters (Sweet Love & Sugar Britches) stepped in after my mother passed away and they became my biggest cheerleaders. They have worked shows and the store, right beside me, and again…oh what [a] team we are!

We have grown in so many different ways and learned along the way as well. We haven’t always gotten it right but God knows we tried.

So having said all of that, I sadly announce that Sweet Love & Sugar Britches will be closing its doors at the end of February. Through a lot of prayer, tears and thought…it is time.

For our loyal customers, we thank you from the bottom of my heart. I will truly miss our ‘talks’ and hugs, and all of the friendly advice we have exchanged along the way. This I will miss the most.

For my tribe of Sweet Love ladies, that have made us what we are...each of you are truly the best and I couldn't have done any of this without you. Your loyalty, support and hard work will never be forgotten. I love each of you and will be forever grateful to have worked along side of you.

So for now…goodbye and thank you for the past 14 years Round Rock!”
