The team behind the seafood restaurant Keepers Coastal Kitchen closed the restaurant's doors this October to make way for a new restaurant.

What's happening

Keepers Coastal Kitchen opened in 2021 and is part of Austin-based Roya Hospitality Group. The restaurant is closing and being renovated so the company can open a different coastal concept, Mi Vecino.

"We evaluated what was performing well with the neighborhood and took that feedback into consideration along with what we felt like the area was missing," a spokesperson for Roya Hospitality Group said in an email to Community Impact. "The result of that was Mi Vecino, a coastal Mexican concept that is keeping some Keepers favorites while also bringing some other dishes and flair the neighborhood was looking for."
