WHAT WE REPORTED In August 2015, Jester King Brewery founder and owner Jeffrey Stuffings purchased 58 acres of land surrounding the business’s property to protect it from development and to venture into farming and food production. 

THE LATEST Last spring, Stuffings planted a variety of fruit trees and bushes on the property’s 1-acre orchard, and this winter he plans to add strawberries to the mix. Fruits harvested will be used in upcoming seasonal beers, he said.

WHAT'S NEXT  A small back corner of the property has been cleared for an apiary, which is slated to be ready for beekeeping classes by spring. Stuffings has also prepared a space for livestock, such as goats for cheese-making.
