Lindsey and Martin Gentry hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for their new business, Cheer & Chow, 700 N. LBJ Drive, Ste. 102-B, San Marcos, on Thursday. Lindsey described the business as a “market restaurant” concept, selling products made with fresh, natural ingredients and seasonal produce.

“This has been a long time in the making,” Lindsey said. “We knew we wanted to make something very local, very San Marcos and very creative.”

The business’s restaurant serves fresh-made breakfast tacos, bagels with cream cheese, soups, bread bowls, naan flatbreads and other dishes.

Cheer & Chow has a permit for on-site and off-site beer sales, and in-store seating allows patrons the option of dining at the store as well.

Martin and Lindsey, who also own Erbert and Gerbert’s 214 N. LBJ Drive, San Marcos, said Cheer & Chow specializes in items not commonly found in San Marcos. They recommended shoppers try three products specifically.
