Downtown Round Rock will be getting an event center overlooking Brushy Creek in the summer.

Kathy Boles, the owner of the forthcoming center on Fannin Avenue just east of Mays Street, said the venue will be 2,600 square feet of meeting space with a 2,800 square foot deck that goes under a grove of oak trees and extends to Brushy Creek. She said the center will host corporate and private events.

"We've had our eye on that property for a while, and we knew it needed something," she said. "We decided we needed a new event center in Round Rock."

She said The Grove will have a modern feel while incorporating the natural environment around it into the design.

"We spent a lot of time focusing on bringing the outside into the building," she said.
