A charter school to be located in Southwest Austin took several steps in 2015 toward opening.

Board Chairwoman Rachel Soto said Kairos Academy of Austin held outreach events and formed its founding board. On Nov. 2 the board submitted a charter application to the Texas Education Agency.

Kairos may receive final approval from the TEA by October, Soto said.
