Jeff Brown said he plans to build on a good 2015 at Old Town Buda Antique Mall.

Even though the past year saw the closure of his Kyle location, Brown said his downtown Buda shop grew, and he is setting a New Year’s resolution of creating more space for his antique vendors—of which he has 20—and reaching a wider clientele.

Jeff Brown, the owner of Old Town Buda Antique Mall, said he wants to focus on attracting more vendors at his Main Street shop in 2016. Jeff Brown, the owner of Old Town Buda Antique Mall, said he wants to focus on attracting more vendors at his Main Street shop in 2016.[/caption]

Brown said he has no plans to open more stores. He said he would need to hire additional staff if he were to again expand but is focusing his energy on Buda. Unlike at the former Kyle location, which was on Center Street but just west of the historic urban center, he gets a lot of foot traffic at the Buda location, an important component to the success of antique stores, he said.

Old Town Buda Antique Mall, which offers various antiques and collectibles, has enjoyed a loyal patronage in its two years in operation, said Brown, who added he plans on maintaining his store in Buda for a long time.

“I’ll be here as long as this building is still here and it’s available,” he said.
