Busy people, those who do not like to cook or families trying to reduce food waste are customers of The Studio Kitchen in Round Rock, General Manager Chuck Wright said. The business offers locally prepared frozen meals with fresh side dishes available for pickup or delivery. Co-owner Laura Bezden said she and her husband, Daniel, opened The Studio Kitchen in 2004 after coming back to live in her native Texas from South Africa. “I came back, and I was astonished at how much the health had declined in this country,” Bezden said. “So it was a good purpose to cook from scratch.” The Studio Kitchen delivers in a 50-mile radius of Round Rock to areas such as Leander, Cedar Park, Georgetown and Austin. Bezden said the business gains about 120 new customers per month and has doubled its business since 2014. The Studio Kitchen offers a traditional menu with 120 rotating items, gluten-free options and a menu adhering to the Paleo diet, which emphasizes meat, fish and vegetables while excluding dairy or grain products. The business also offers a 28-day diet plan to introduce potential customers to the Paleo diet. “Don’t underestimate the change that can occur in your health [when eating healthier],” Bezden said. “I truly feel that everyone should try the 28-day program; miraculous things can happen.” Round Rock resident Jana Cottrill said she became a Studio Kitchen customer to eat healthier. Cottrill said she orders twice a week off the Paleo menu. She said a personal trainer recommended The Studio Kitchen to her to help with fitness goals. “Because their food is so healthy it allows me to control my weight,” Cottrill said. With every meal, Bezden sends out a survey to learn about customers’ tastes and likes. Customer Libby Gibbs said she appreciates the customer care.
