A 12,360-square-foot development with a side-by-side Luby's cafeteria and Fuddruckers restaurant opens March 20 at 415 W. Slaughter Lane.
Construction at the Southpark Meadows-area site began in 2013. The restaurant is one of the company's first new units in Austin in a number of years, said Peter Tropoli, chief operating officer of Luby's Inc.
"We are thrilled about this location, which presented an opportunity to bring these two Texas-born, heritage brands together just minutes from the State Capitol," Tropoli said in a news release.
The 9,900-square-foot Luby's space has 220 seats, while the 2,460-square-foot Fuddruckers has 72 seats, according to the company. Both restaurants feature new designs, and the dual concept debuted in 2012 in Pearland, a suburb of Houston.
The company operates 95 Luby's cafeterias in the United States and 65 Fuddruckers restaurants in the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
