Residents in Bastrop and Lee counties are invited to take part in a hazardous waste collection event at the Smithville Recycle Center on Jan. 20.

Waste collection is free but requires preregistration. No more than 10 tires per resident can be deposited, and commercial or agricultural tires will not be accepted. Fill out a preregistration form here.

Electronics such as computers, TVs and printers will be accepted. Proof of Bastrop County or Lee County residency, such as a driver’s license or utility bill, is required at the time of disposal.
