A total of 14,841 from Bastrop County's 13 vote centers have been reported.

Maurice Cook led the race with 55.2% of votes, or 5,772 votes, followed by Jeff "Gogo" Gogolewski with 40% of votes, or 4,074.

The county saw a 25.4% voter turnout.

Early voting results show current Sheriff Maurice Cook is in the lead against Jeff "Gogo" Gogolewski.

Bastrop County has released early voting totals for sheriff.

At this time, Cook has received 55.9% of votes cast to Gogolewski's 38.7%. Gregg Castillo received 5.4% of votes.

According to unofficial early voting results, Cook leads with 4,928 votes against Gogolewski’s 3,407.

All results are unofficial until canvassed.

In early voting, there were ballots cast countywide, which represents 14.72% of Bastrop County's 58,441 voters. At this time 6,008 counted votes have been cast in the sheriff race.


Official totals from March 5 election day are yet to be released. Polls closed at 7 p.m., although voters who were in line at 7 p.m. were still able to cast ballots.
