Bastrop's Taco Bell is getting a new look and is set to reopen by Feb. 28.

Matthew Fitzharris of John King Construction—the company spearheading the renovations—said his company began upgrading the look of the restaurant Feb. 19.

"We expect Taco Bell should be able to open back up by next Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest," Fitzharris said.

Along with the new look, the fast-food chain unveiled a host of new menu items under $3 each last month.

In a news release, Taco Bell officials said the new Cravings Value Menu features four "fan-favorite" vegetarian options, including the Cheesy Roll Up, Spicy Potato Soft Taco, Cheesy Bean and Rice Burrito and Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes.


Other new items on the Cravings Value Menu include:
  • Double Stacked Taco
  • Stacker
  • Cheesy Double Beef Burrito
  • Three-Cheese Chicken Flatbread Melt
  • Chicken Enchilada Burrito
  • Loaded Beef Nachos
  • Veggie Build-Your-Own Cravings Box
More recently, Taco Bell announced an upcoming Cantina Chicken Menu featuring new items that will begin to roll out nationwide in March.

The Cantina Chicken Menu will offer:
  • Cheesy Chicken Crispanada
  • Crispy Chicken Nuggets
  • Cheesy Street Chalupas
  • Cheesy Enchilada Dipping Tac
Additional upcoming menu options will include a new sauce flavor, Avocado Verde Salsa, as well as Mountain Dew Baja Blast Gelato and Dulce de Leche Cinnabon Delights.
