A variety of expansions and new developments are making headway in Bastrop.

1. Reed Ranch

Reed Ranch is a 24-acre planned development district located at 615 W. Hwy. 71 at the intersection of Hwy. 71 and Settlement Drive. The development plans include apartment buildings and sidewalk paths.

2. Pearl River

Pearl River development cleared for commercial construction. The project will involve the construction of a rental community as well as office and retail space.

3. H-E-B plus!

The Hasler Boulevard H-E-B location will undergo an expansion, including the additional of A True Texas BBQ restaurant inside the store.

4. Bastrop's historic downtown bridge


Plans are underway to reopen Bastrop's historic Old Iron Bridge to the public. City officials are prepared to allocate $15 million toward bridge repairs without affecting Bastrop's existing tax rate at $0.5128 per $100 valuation.

5. Fairview Cemetery

The cemetery, which is experiencing limited availability, is undergoing an expansion. The project includes a new columbarium for cremated remains housing 480 niches.
