Step back in time with the Bastrop County Historical Society’s 61st annual Lost Pines Holiday Homes Tour from noon-5 p.m. Dec. 9. The self-paced tour offers entrance to four historical homes decorated for the holiday season and the Bastrop Opera House.

Tickets are $20 each. Tickets can be purchased online here or at the Bastrop Museum and Visitor Center located at 904 Main St.

“Going on this immensely popular holiday tour really does make you feel like you’re stepping through the doors of time to discover the architectural gems of Bastrop's historic district,” said Nicole DeGuzman, executive director of the Bastrop Museum and Visitor Center, in a news release.

A closer look

As part of the tour, participants will find guides at each location to provide insight to the history of Bastrop and these historic homes.


“Each home on the tour is beautifully decorated for the holidays and boasts remarkable details and features that showcase the town's rich heritage,” DeGuzman said in the release.

Proceeds from the tour benefit the Bastrop County Historical Society and the organization’s efforts to preserve the county’s history. The event contributes to the preservation of the historical landmarks.

“The Lost Pines Holiday Homes Tour is more than just a glimpse into the past; it's a celebration of Bastrop's unique identity and cultural heritage,” DeGuzman said in the release. “As you wander through the homes and interact with the docents and homeowners, you'll gain a deeper appreciation for our town's enduring spirit and our commitment to preserving its legacy.”
