The event is free of charge and will feature musicians, such as live jazz saxophone and a guitar duo performance. According to Nancy Wood, director of events for the Bastrop Museum & Visitor Center, musicians new to the event will also perform.
Students of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church have created art pieces of the bridge that will be posted at various businesses around downtown.
“Our beloved bridge has been a source of inspiration for countless artists throughout its centurylong history,” Wood said in a news release. “It's time to witness Bastrop's most cherished ‘Bridge Art’ creations as local and regional artists reveal their talents to the world.”
Children are welcome to take part in a coloring event in front of the Bastrop Museum and Visitor’s Center.
"This event is a testament to our town's commitment to preserving our history and fostering a sense of community," Wood said in the release. "The Bastrop Bridge has been a symbol of connection for generations, and this First Friday ArtWalk Extravaganza is our way of celebrating its enduring significance.”
The Save Our Bridge organization will host a Save Our Bridge Birthday Party downtown Nov. 9.
