The city of Bastrop took to the streets for September’s First Friday Artwalk on Sept. 1. Sponsored by the Bastrop Museum and Visitor Center, attendees enjoyed live music and flash mob dancers at Vibe Tribe during this month's event.

“Adding to the auditory feast are the enchanting sounds of Juan Rangel Jr.’s jazz saxophone and the infectious rhythm of the tremendously popular Vibe Tribe Drum Circle,” said Nancy Wood, director of events for the Bastrop Museum and Visitor Center.

The Art Institute of Austin hosted Friday’s fundraiser event, The Empty Bowl Project. Proceeds benefited the Bastrop County Emergency Food Pantry.

“I was thrilled that visitors came down,” Wood said. “We will continue to host the First Friday Artwalk through the end of the year.”

Next month’s Artwalk will take place from 6-9 p.m. Oct. 6.

“Bring your friends, family and an open heart as we come together to appreciate the beauty and diversity of human expression,” Wood said.
