Applications are still available through March 3 for those seeking to become Bastrop’s next mayor following former Mayor Lyle Nelson’s resignation on Jan. 14.

Bastrop Public Information Officer Colin Guerra said no applications had been submitted as of Feb. 19.

Those interested in putting their name in the hat can apply online, or pick one up from city hall, 1311 Chestnut St., Bastrop.
