Various area health experts will converge at the Bastrop Convention Center to offer free workshops and health screenings to the public, while also providing family-friendly fun.

Becki Womble, president and CEO of the Bastrop Chamber of Commerce, said the Bastrop County Health Fair aims to familiarize the community with nearby health-related agencies, promote preventative health care, encourage exercise, and provide life-saving techniques and nutritional education.

The event runs from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., with a range of workshops, demonstrations and more happening throughout the day.

According to the event website, nearly everything offered will be walk-up friendly; however, the following requires advanced registration:

The KidZone area will offer the following:
  • 10:30 a.m., musical chairs, bowling
  • 11 a.m., mascot parade
  • 11:45 a.m., Bastrop Skate Palace demonstration
  • Noon, musical chairs, bowling, face painting
  • 1:30 p.m., Bastrop Skate Palace demonstration
  • 2 p.m., Pathways Gymnastics demonstration, face painting
