The details
This marks the first series of holiday lighting improvements since 2017.
“The feedback received [in 2017] was greatly positive,” Bastrop Police Chief Vicky Steffanic said during an Aug. 26 meeting. “This year should be no different.”
The holiday lighting improvements—which will be purchased from San Antonio-based Decor IQ—will be installed at several locations throughout the city, including:
- Downtown
- Bastrop City Hall
- Bastrop Convention and Exhibit Center
- Bastrop Fire Department
- Bastrop Public Library
- Fisherman’s Park
Fisherman’s Park hosts the annual River of Lights event, which typically runs from late November through early January.
This year, area residents can look forward to several fixtures when strolling through the one-mile June Hill Pape Riverwalk, including:
- Walk-through ornaments
- Several lighted trees
- A branded photo frame
- A large, decorated holiday tree
- A shooting star arch
- A red and white tunnel
- Additional colored lighting
