Although officials did not include any supporting documents in its agenda packet for the meeting, a proposed budget report was uploaded to the main page of the Bastrop County website.
Bastrop County did not provide Community Impact with any further information when requested.
“When those documents are ready for review, the auditors office will upload them to their website,” Lyndsey Schroeder, a spokesperson for Bastrop County, told Community Impact in an email Aug. 22.
The proposed budget report reflects an increase in collected taxes—an ongoing trend in Bastrop County.
During fiscal year 2025-26, officials hope to generate even more in taxes with $44.5 million, according to the proposed budget report.

A public hearing for the fiscal year 2025-26 budget will be held prior to adoption during the meeting Aug. 25, and commissioners will vote whether to set a public hearing for the fiscal year 2025-26 proposed tax rate during a meeting Sept. 8, according to county documents.
