Residents can get low-cost microchipping for their pets March 30, ahead of a possible city mandate.

The gist

Nonprofit animal welfare organization Save an Angel will host its next community pet clinic in the Bastrop City Hall.

In addition to $22 microchipping, officials will offer free rabies shots and other low-cost pet wellness services.

Executive Director Jeremy Parks said all are welcome despite economic status; however, appointments are required.

Something to note

Bastrop City Council members will hold a town hall meeting April 2 at 5:30 p.m. at city hall regarding a proposed ordinance requiring microchipping for all dogs and cats.
