Bastrop River of Lights
The holiday event will feature different events every Friday evening including music in the park, Christmas carol karaoke, a movie in the park and refreshments served by local nonprofits every weekend at the gingerbread house. A tree lighting will be held on Nov. 29 to kick-off the event with local vendors and Santa Claus initiating the tree lighting.

Individuals can explore the various holiday traditions celebrated across different cultures and time periods. Traditions highlighted in the exhibit include Hanukkah, Diwali, Christmas, Kwanzaa and Ramadan.

The local performance will have the venue’s stage filled with twinkling lights and festive ornaments, and will feature an emcee and a live band.

Residents can walk or run to celebrate the holiday season and help raise funds for Mina Elementary School. Proceeds will benefit the student activities fund and be used for future on-campus, community-wide races and field day activities

With cookies and a special appearance from Santa Claus, Frost Bank is spreading holiday cheer with this local event.

Participants will enjoy a catered dinner, live auctions, silent auctions, live entertainment and dancing. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Family Crisis Center’s service areas: Bastrop, Colorado, Fayette and Lee counties.

Participants can explore historical architecture in the city with private tours of preservation efforts, guest speakers, behind the scenes experiences and scavenger hunts.

Bastrop’s Main Street Program will host the annual event where participants can write letters to Santa Claus, shop from local businesses, enjoy treats from pop-up snack booths and slide through a blow up Toboggan tunnel.

Community members are invited to remember and honor fallen veterans by laying remembrance wreaths on their graves. Attendees are encouraged to sponsor a wreath.
