The police departments from the city of Bastrop and Bastrop ISD are teaming up this Christmas to help local children in need.

What's happening

Bastrop Police Chief Vicky Steffanic said applications to request help from Bastrop's Operation Blue Santa are open through 3 p.m. on Nov. 15.

Notable quote

"Throughout the year, the officers participate in numerous community events but the Blue Santa program is by far one of the most rewarding and hits home for many of the officers," Steffanic said. "The holidays tend to be a magical time of year and this program enables police to partner with members of our community and help ensure that families having a difficult time can still give their little ones a positive experience."
