Officials at the Bastrop Recreation Center will open the doors for families and friends to decorate pottery bowls that will help fight hunger in the community.

The details

The painting parties are set for Oct. 4, Nov. 1 and Dec. 6 at the recreation center from 6-7:30 p.m.

Paint, stencils and paintbrushes will be provided to decorate the bowls.

"Everyone who comes is welcome to bring any other art supplies they would like to use," said Karen Kahan, spokesperson for the Bastrop Evening Lions Club.

After the bowls are painted, volunteers will collect them and take them to the kiln ahead of the empty bowl events.
