The Bastrop County Historical Society has a special holiday exhibit planned—but they need help from current and former residents.

The gist

Similar to the "Stories Inked in Skin" collection, which is on display at the Bastrop Museum & Visitor Center through Oct. 26, the team hopes to curate stories and photos themed around the holidays.

"We want to hear from you," Heather Bloom, curator of the exhibit, said in a news release. "Share your festive traditions, holiday memories, and the special ways your family makes the season bright."

The details

Those interested in participating can email [email protected], and should include:
  • A story, sharing your family's holiday traditions, favorite memories, special recipes, must-have treats, festive decorations, and more
  • A photo, which should be representative of the story
Submissions must be made by Oct. 29, and include a name, contact information, and how the family should be identified publicly. Stories should be kept to less than 500 words.

One more thing

The holiday exhibit will be displayed between Nov. 23-Jan. 4 at the museum, 904 Main St., Bastrop.

"We will have a grand opening reception on Nov. 30 during Wassail Fest," said BCHS representative Martha Huett. "That should start around 4 p.m."
