BISD named Leasor Crass P.C. to serve as the search firm to find the district's next leader during the Aug. 19 board meeting.
The firm will help guide the district in finding candidates and conducting interviews. It is also currently engaged in superintendent searches for Cedar Hill and Frost ISDs, per the firm website.

The district named an interim superintendent to head BISD in July as officials search for the district's next leader. Deputy Superintendent Kristi Lee was appointed to serve as the district's interim superintendent July 15. This comes a month after longtime Superintendent Barry Edwards announced his intention to retire from his position after 17 years.
