During a regular meeting on Jan. 28, the board voted to call an election on May 3 for the trustee positions. Place 5, Place 6 and Place 7 will be up for election.
The details
The Bastrop ISD Board of Trustees is comprised of seven at-large members, who uphold three-year terms. Members living within any region of the district will be able to vote on all three trustees in the upcoming election.
Chris Dillon, a practicing attorney in Bastrop and current Vice President of the board has served as a trustee since 2018 and currently has the Place 5 seat.
The Place 6 seat is currently held by Dr. Matthew Mix, a local chiropractor who has held a position on the BISD Board of Trustees since 2013.
Ashley Mutschink, a partner at The Nitsche Group, is the current president of the board and trustee of Place 7. Mutschink has served on the BISD School Board since 2013.
