Bastrop ISD officials are asking for help to name its ninth elementary school, which broke ground Oct. 1.

What’s happening

BISD Communications Director Cassandra Balderas said submissions to name the school will be accepted through Oct. 11.

Those wanting to add their suggestion can fill out the online nomination form.

Some context

As part of the ongoing bond projects, the 105,000-square-foot school is expected to open in summer 2025 in the Adelton subdivision near FM 20 and Hwy. 71.

“This marks the third new campus we’ve opened in just the past three years,” Superintendent Barry Edwards said in a news release. “Before 2022, it had been over a decade since we opened a new school in BISD—Cedar Creek High School back in 2009.”
