Locals Daniel Luo and Alex Liu opened Volcano Sushi & Ramen next door to the recently established Tecuen crepe and coffee spot in the Burleson Crossing Shopping Center.

What they offer

By creating Bastrop’s newest sushi and ramen sit-down restaurant, Luo said they want to provide traditional Japanese and Chinese cuisines to hungry Bastrop residents that are delicious, fresh and nutritious.

Diners at Volcano Sushi & Ramen can choose from a range of options, such as:
  • Bento boxes
  • Traditional and special sushi rolls
  • Noodles and fried rice dishes
  • Small plates like calamari, salmon and tuna wraps, edamame and more

Tonkotsu ramen, meaning it is made from pork bone broth, is also on the menu with customizable ingredients like:
  • Narutomaki, or swirled fish cakes
  • Menma, or thinly sliced, fermented bamboo shoots
  • Chashu, or braised pork belly
  • Kikurage, or wood ear mushrooms
What else?

Both new Bastrop residents, Luo said he and Liu have worked in Bastrop in the past and fell in love with the town—leading to both men moving to Bastrop over the summer to prepare for the opening of Volcano Sushi & Ramen.
