Representatives with Sun Holdings, the Dallas-based firm that manages Freebirds World Burrito, did not respond to Community Impact’s inquiry for a construction timeline as of press time.

Freebirds World Burrito, founded in 1987 in California, operates more than 60 locations across Texas, and offers menu items such as customizable burritos, tacos, bowls, nachos, salads and more.

Other restaurants bringing Tex-Mex to Bastrop include Chuy’s, an Austin-based chain that is opening its first Bastrop location in Sendero—a 75-acre mixed-use development underway.
“We’re excited to bring Chuy’s to Bastrop and introduce guests to our one-of-a-kind take on Tex-Mex,” Hailey Fitch, a spokesperson for Chuy’s, said in an email. “We’ve received outstanding support from the city.”
